For folks new to town (or new to flag football!): Registration for Flag Star Football's Fall Flag Season is happening now! And they're running a series of FREE Promo Days (and Girls Flag Promo Days) in July/August for folks to try the league.
Flag Star is a local, rec league focused on Getting Better and Having Fun. No screaming coaches, no midweek practices; it's fun, positive, organized. And it’s very much a first-time-player-friendly program.
They have programs for everyone – K - 12th Grade, boys and girls, 'elite' players and couch-potatoes – and are committed to full-inclusion (financial aid available). You can register for the league here, find out more about times/locations here, or RSVP for one of their Promo Days to see if you like it.
'Free Agent' registration closes August 7th, although you can always e-mail hq@flagstarfootball.com if you have questions (or want to try the promo day before you register).

Cotillion Registration Now Open! Attention rising 6th Graders!
Registration for the 2025 to 2026 Cotillion season is officially open!
We have learned that many former CRES 6th graders (and CRES alumni) attend the Great Falls & Reston program at River Bend Country Club. This program is open to students in Great Falls, Reston, and surrounding areas. (Please note: This is a different Cotillion program than the one advertised in our May 6th newsletter).
Classes begin this fall! Find additional information and the registration link HERE. We hope to see many of our rising 6th graders, along with other CRES alumni, participate!
See the below description of the Cotillion Program for additional information:
- Our program teaches 6th-12th graders the skills they need to successfully communicate with others using honor, dignity, and respect. Kids today need these soft skills to put their best foot forward, whether face-to-face or through a device. Schools and jobs are increasingly competitive but GPAs and resumes no longer cut it. There is a growing emphasis on emotional IQ and social aptitude, from colleges to tech firms or non-profits. That’s where we come in. Cotillion is an opportunity for students to start learning and practicing now the interpersonal skills that will help them throughout their lives.
- Students in our program enjoy monthly classes starting in September and ending in March at our end-of-season Ball. We emphasize kindness and becoming better above all else. The skills and social protocols taught in our program provide the foundation needed for students to learn how to navigate difficult social experiences, tools for getting through a variety of social situations, and concrete steps for developing good character now so they’re prepared for the future. Through practicing etiquette students gain confidence in themselves and grow in their ability to treat others with respect and compassion.
