Langston Hughes Chorus - BROADWAY SUMMER

BROADWAY SUMMER is here, and you are getting the first chance to be a part of this exciting new program!  I am thrilled to begin working on our first annual Broadway Summer program here at Hughes.  Like the South Lakes Broadway Night, Broadway Summer is an extension of the choral music program at Hughes and is offered by the Hughes Parents for Choral Arts.  Our program is open to all students in the area!

Broadway Summer will focus on teaching healthy singing techniques to the developing performer and culminates with three performances of a Broadway Show.  We are excited to present GREASE – School Version!

More about GREASE – School Version:

Grease: School Version retains the fun-loving spirit and immortal songs of the blockbuster show, but removes any profanity, lewd behavior, and Rizzo's pregnancy scare. The song "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" is also deleted from this edition. Additionally, the following songs have undergone lyric changes for the School Version:

"Alma Mater Parody"
"Summer Nights"
"Freddy, My Love"
"Greased Lightnin'"
"Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee"
"Beauty School Dropout"

The remainder of the songs have been edited for time, with some verses deleted.
