(Open Jan 21st at 7pm)
We are thrilled to announce our Colvin Run Elementary School fifth and sixth grade student musical: “Annie Jr.”. The shows will be May 1 and 2, 2020. If your child is in fifth or sixth grade and interested in participating in the musical, the registration link is above and will be emailed to fifth and sixth grade parents on Tuesday, January 21st at 7:00 p.m. The musical participation fee is $100.
The registration form will not work until January 21st. We know email providers may delay emails, so please reference this page in the event your email is not received at 7:00 p.m.
Rehearsals will be every Monday and Wednesday morning 8:00-9:05 a.m. beginning February 5th. Auditions for specific roles will take place February 10th, 12th, and 17th 8:00-9:05 a.m. at CRES (all participants must attend all three mornings). All participants must be available every day during the week of the performances for before and/or after school rehearsals (as needed). Please verify your family’s schedule prior to signing up for the musical as the lack of attendance will impact the show's success and your child’s continued participation.
Due to space limitations, we will only accept the first 40 fifth and sixth grade students who sign-up, with participation preference given to sixth grade students. We have nearly 272 fifth and sixth grade students and 40 parts for the musical. With this in mind, participation preference will be given to the sixth grade students, knowing that when our fifth grade students are in sixth grade, participation preference will then be given to them. Once the 40 spots are filled, we will contact those 40 students with further Information and a PTO link in which to make the Registration payment.
Annie Jr. Show Information
“Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants and tourists, Annie JR. is ideal for productions involving different grade levels.”
