Summary: Come join us for an open conversation about having difficult conversations with children. Our CRES mental health team will offer strategies and suggestions for talking with your children about difficult topics.

Student Safety and Well-Being Support Information: We want you to know that FCPS has resources available to support your child’s mental health. If your child is experiencing worry, anxiety, or other distressing emotions, encourage them to share their feelings with you or to reach out to our school counseling team for support. Our School-based Mental Health Team can provide you with additional resources and do check-ins with students during the school day, if needed. Please feel free to reach out at any time.
Contact Colvin Run ES if there are any needs that arise with you or your children, as the school has Student Safety and Well-Being resources to support your family. Parents may also reach out for guidance regarding how to talk with their child. During after school hours, parents and students can use the 988 Lifeline to get free, confidential support and guidance from trained crisis counselors on how to best help their children experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. And as always, if your concern is an emergency you should call 911.
