CRES Talent Show

3/20/2023 12:00 am

The CRES Talent Show is Coming!

Dust off those dancing shoes, tune those instruments, make those costumes, and get your "act" together for the 2024 CRES Talent Show!   The show will take place over two nights: Friday, May 17, 2024 for grades K-3, and Saturday, May 18, 2024 for grades 4-6. Performances should be no longer than 1 minute 15 seconds, and we will once again be auditioning for both talent acts and MCs. More information will be forthcoming about auditions, times, rules and requirements, but it's never too early to start planning. Last year we had singing, dancing, music, magic and more, so the PTO is looking forward to seeing what the kids bring this year, and what surprise acts may show! Stay tuned...

Library Book Fair - Nov. 13-17

11/12/2019 8:41 pm

The Library Book Fair is coming next week! Each class will be visiting the library two times, once to shop and once to purchase books. Wish lists should be coming home with your child after their initial browsing session. If you are unable to attend the book fair with your child, you can send in cash or a check to purchase books from their wish list. You are welcome to accompany your child during their class’ scheduled time in the library. You can view the class schedule here.

Please take time to look through the teacher wish lists. It is a wonderful way to supplement your child’s learning in the classroom. The book fair is always open to adults, so you can also bring the child’s wish list in yourself and purchase the items you choose from the list.

Book Fair hours are as follows:

Monday 9:30 am – 3:50 pm
Tuesday 9:30 am – 7:00 pm* (evening hours)
Wednesday 9:00 am – 3:50 pm
Thursday 8:00 am* – 3:50 pm (before school hours
Friday 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (Family browsing during the Thanksgiving Luncheon)

*Students accompanied by their parents may shop at the Book Fair from 3:50 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday after school and from 8:00 am until 9:15 am on Thursday before school.

We need many volunteers to make this a successful event!  Please use the following link to sign up to help!
(Volunteers do a variety of tasks, including setting up, taking money, helping little ones with wish lists, packing the fair up!)

Celebrate with family and friends at CRES's Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. Bring any siblings, aunts, uncles, or grandparents to join us for lunch. This is a wonderful Colvin Run family tradition.

The cafeteria will have its annual Thanksgiving food available to parents and students. For our Cafeteria staff to plan on the number of Thanksgiving Feast meals to prepare, we ask that you please purchase tickets by November 14th if you or your child will be eating the school’s Thanksgiving lunch.

Tickets are on sale now through Nov. 14th @ 10pm.

Student: $3.25 each

Parent: $4.75 each

Siblings/Non-CRES Students : $3.25 each

  • Families meeting their child for lunch will pick up the adult/non-CRES child tickets at the Will Call Table in the Front Lobby.
  • Students eating the Thanksgiving lunch will receive their ticket in the classroom prior to their lunch time.
  • Children eating their own lunch DO NOT need a ticket and DO NOT need to go through the cafeteria line.
  • All classrooms will have a 40 minute lunch to ensure there is enough time to enjoy lunch with their friends and family.
  • We will have open-seating in the gym and cafeteria. Families may choose to sit at any available table in their class’s lunch location.

Non-CRES Cafeteria Lunch Option

Families are welcome to bring in any outside food to enjoy with their families.

There will be no coordinated outside food order this year.

FAQs

  • I can’t come on that day. Will my child be able to eat the Thanksgiving Lunch? Yes. To make the lunch line move efficiently, please pre-purchase a ticket for your child. The classroom teacher will give your child their ticket on the way to lunch. Your child can type in their Cafeteria PIN, but we appreciate pre-purchase to keep the line moving efficiently.
  • Can I bring in outside food if we don’t want the Thanksgiving Lunch? Yes, we understand not all families will eat the Thanksgiving Lunch. Families are welcome to bring outside food. However, there will not be a coordinated lunch order option from an outside venue this year. We do not permit third-party deliveries (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.)
  • Do I need to purchase a ticket if my family is not eating the Thanksgiving Lunch? No, you will not need to purchase a ticket. You are still invited to attend the luncheon and bring a lunch to eat with family and friends.

PARKING

  • Parking will be available on the Basketball Court, Upper Parking Lot, Lower Parking Lot, Shouse Pool Parking Lot, and CRES-side of Andrew Chapel Parking Lot.  A reminder that parking on Trap Road is illegal and parking on Trap Road could result in a parking ticket. There is no parking at Andrew Chapel cemetery.
  • With limited additional parking at Colvin Run Elementary School, carpooling or walking, if possible, is encouraged.

Lunch Schedule HERE

If anyone is available to help hand out tickets at the will call table between 10:30am and 1:30 pm, please email communications@crespto.org
